Edwardian Wedding Ensemble, (2 Pieces, Blouse and Skirt), Slip, and Purse

The antique photo does NOT show this dress but one very similar from the early 1900s worn by my beautiful, sweet English grandmother, Grandma Reed. Edwardian Wedding Ensemble, (2 Pieces, Blouse and Skirt), Slip, and Purse I don't really know where to start. It is a skirt, blouse, slip, and Purse. There is no label, but the blouse and skirt are numbered with a tag attached to each see photo; both are the same number 2802. The color is off white.

They are all embellished by lots of beautiful lace. I have lots of photos but not enough spaces to list them all. The Blouse: High Gibson Girl collar around the neck. I believe they call the sleeves Mutton Leg sleeves. The yoke lace and ruffle tier falls down 10 below the neck. The sleeves are so unique I don't know how to describe them.

They have 4 sections of tiny, tiny tucks going around which I assume are part of the lace. The right sleeve has a tiny separation of the lace which can be stitched.

The center front and center back are large sections of lace. The opening is in the back and has 19 antique baby buttons, all accounted for. There is also a tie around the back. The hem of the blouse was left unfinished and is to be tucked into the skirt, The bust measurement I believe is around 40 inches and all the fullness in the front tucks allows for extra room. The skirt: The skirt waist is 24 inches and closed with metal hooks.

It is 44 inches long and has a tier of 20 inches of ruffled lace being part of the 44 inches. The slip is pure white while the blouse and skirt are off white. It is 24 around the waist and 33 inches long. Also has a lace ruffle tier I could not work a picture of the purse in. It is a crocheted bag in a cotton that was very wear resistant.

It has no flaws and has 5 couples of crocheted drops. The lining is another story. She was knowledgeable about the Nottingham Lace Markets. Her wedding dress was very similar to this one.

My mom was also a precise seamstress. The item "Edwardian Wedding Ensemble, (2 Pieces, Blouse and Skirt), Slip, and Purse" is in sale since Sunday, April 09, 2017.
