1930s Antique Vintage Novelty Print Gifts Holiday Christmas Rayon Dress Art Deco. This dress is black and white and has novelty patterns of gift boxes, flowers, and ribbon all throughout the exterior of the garment. The style is similar to a wrap dress due to the dress closures crossing over the center front across the bodice. The button closures along the black strip on the bodice act as actual closures, whereas the buttons from the waist line down are for decoration only (the dress does not actually open from the waist down).
There is a functional zipper under the wearer's left arm. The front exterior layer of the skirt is a tiered design, with three sets of three decorative buttons along the black strip of fabric. The sleeves are 3/4 length, and there are shoulder pads (they could easily be cut out if desired so). There is a black fabric cuff at the bottom of both sleeves, but no closures on them. There is wear, staining, and tearing throughout this garment.
To be considered wearable today, alterations and care would be very helpful. There is no inner lining, and the bottom hem is still in great condition. This dress would be great for the holidays, and/or can be used as inspiration. Bust: 44-47 Waist: 44 Hip: 52 Length: 43.
