Antique Civil War Velvet Silk Gown Dress & Slip Victorian 1860s
Lovely 1860s Antique Victorian Civil War Velvet Silk Dress and Slip. Dress measures 54" from neckline to hemline, 62" across hemline measured as shown in photos, 18" long sleeve and 20" long from neckline to cuff, 15" measured flat across waist and 16" across bodice.
Dress is sturdy and in overall wearable good condition fresh and clean. Dress has early hook and eye closures at front opening and along partial waistline, a pocket along each skirt side. Dress has some faint darkening at underarms with no apparent breaks in fabric, a small tear along rear inside hemline probable from the heel of a shoe and some wear to silk banding along neckline and cuff areas and a break in the silk banding along lower front edge. Slip is in good condition but with a tear in the fabric along side seam. A lovely early dress in overall good condition.
