Flapper Dress Beaded Silk 2 Piece Slip & Dress Set 1920s Antique Drop Waist
A stunning 2 piece flapper dress! It's in good, durable condition for its age.
It is a pullover with side snaps and has a matching silk slip it comes with... The slip has some discoloration and a few small holes but is wearable with several inches of hem in good condition you may use for repairs if you choose. The HEAVILY beaded chiffon dress is surprisingly durable with only a few tiny holes and no signs of dry rot whatsoever. For the dress to be as heavy as it is (from all the bead work) the shoulders are strong. There's some discoloration under the arms. There are spots/stains in a few places BUT...I believe with good cleaning, you can get most of this out. The feathers are brittle in places and shedding every time I move it. You may want to remove them.
Some of the faux pearls are missing. The interior of the pearls are made from wax. I found a crushed one on the front of the dress. Very similar to the antique wax flowers. There are seams that need to be reinforced.There are several inches of fabric underneath and beads on the inside hem to replace some of the beads that have fallen off. The majority of beads are still in place but there are a few areas here and there with some missing. All in all it's a fantastic dress set and a rare find!!! I believe it's silk chiffon.

It wasn't pinned or clipped. Measurements are approximate and taken while the dress was laid flat. Chest from underarm to underarm is 18.5 across (may have a little stretch). From the shoulder to the bottom, it's about 43 inches long. I love to research the items I sell and do my best to describe them but I'm not an expert.
