1940s Hand-Dyed Satin Slip Dress - Lace Embellished & One of a Kind. This 1940s satin slip dress has been given new life with a unique hand-dyed finish, creating a beautifully uneven effect that adds to its charm. The bodice is adorned with delicate lace embellishment, enhancing its timeless elegance.
To preserve its beauty, I carefully covered a few small imperfections-two in the front and four in the back-with vintage lace, seamlessly blending them into the design. The result is a truly one-of-a-kind piece, perfect for lounging in vintage luxury or styling as a statement dress. All measurements are taken with the garment lying flat (in inches). (1 inch = 2.54 cm). Armpit to armpit: 15 3/4.
Total Length (shoulder to hem): 37. For reference it didn't fit the mannquin that is a women's size 2-4 USA with the following measurements. Vintage and antique clothing often differ from modern standardized sizes.
Many were handmade for an individual, so sizing can vary. Instead of relying on a labeled size, compare the given measurements to a garment that fits you well. If you have any questions about fit, feel free to ask-I'm happy to help! Vintage and antique items have been previously loved, so small imperfections may exist. Hand-dyed pieces: Due to the nature of hand-dyeing, colors may not be perfectly even.
Please wash these items delicately, preferably alone or with similar colors. Antique fabrics (pre-1930s): Delicate materials such as 1920s silk or Edwardian muslin require extra care. These fabrics can be fragile and should be worn loosely to prevent stress or tearing.
