Hollywood Bomb 1920s/30s Silk Satin Slip Dress withVelvet/Lace/Fringed Capelet
It is hard to beleive that I actually used to wear this. I can still get it on but unfortunately my body can't handle it.
It is simply amazing and if you have the body for it you will be a knock out! Can't decide if 20s or 30s. It's that fabulous silk satin that just gleams and is so sensuous against the body.
Has doubled spaghetti like straps that are done in velvet. Indeed all the edges are in velvet and then ruffled silk lace.
I used to wear with this little capelet that I have had for over 30 years. It is like a textured crepe at top and then bottom has two layers of netting with three layers of overlapping fringe (tried to show in last pix). It has four loop style buttons at the top. As usual black is so hard to photograph so lightened a few pix to attempt to show the fancy details. Check out the hem and then the inserts on the bias cut at bottom. Truly an Old Hollywood piece. You can really dress it up with jewelry, heels, etc. Also wear as nightgown; a great boudoir piece.In good vintage condition; if you hold up to the light there are a few tiny pinholes that you don't notice otherwise. It is a very wearable size and due to styling many can wear. You can also wear the capelet with other pieces so this is like a two for one.
Across the waist area 20. Across the hip area 22. Length from top of strap 59 shorter when on. Length from center top a little over 11 including the fringe.
