Victorian Edwardian Gibson Girl Princess Corset Under Dress/Gown Chemise Petticoat 1906. DESCRIPTION: Possibly a once in a lifetime opportunity to acquire an historic Gibson Girl Underpinning. A most beautiful full length under corset full length chemise. These gowns featured lace straps with matching lace bust ruffles & lower gown matching lace.
Original Robin's Egg Blue lingerie braid woven through bust ruffle. I have included a period ad for corsets as they were advertised with this under dress/gown.
In preventing body oils from soiling the corsets & petticoats. I've only seen another of these gowns in the Victoria/Albert Museum. Gown is in little to unworn condition. Few tiny holes in lace near the hem.
Will require a few stitches to close. Few thread bare small seam openings in the lace near the seam.
Small age marks on the blue lingerie braid. One or two very light, fingertip size age mark on the lower frontal gown. Stray, fray threads that may need a clipping.
If I have missed anything, it's because I cannot see it. So double to 41 in. Waist: (Free Flowing for Comfort) Approx.
