The sleeve caps are like graceful wings consisting of tulip petals that are cut out and edged. The skirt is made of 8 gored sections which contribute to its graceful flow. The floor-length hemline is beautifully irregular, following the scalloped cut out edged petals of the tulips. Much of this dress has been hand-stitched.
The slip was made to be worn with the dress. The slip is a lavender taffeta. The dress is in excellent condition for its age. There are no noticeable stains. The seams appear to be intact.
The slip does have some stains that show up in the pictures. While the slip is meant to be worn with the dress, the pictures of the dress were taken without the slip under it. The pictures of the dress and the slip were taken separately. This garment has been in our family for many years and we hope to send it to a new home where it will be valued.
