VINTAGE 1930s OFF WHITE FLORAL CREPE GOWN WITH JACKET AND SLIP 3 PC. BEAUTY
This charming rayon crepe dress gown comes with a matched bolero jacket and a cream silk slip. Photos were taken without the slip. Halter straps with shoulder straps, making the style unique. Side snaps with center eye/hook closure.
Jacket has balloon style short sleeves that taper at the cuff. Bias-cut ivory silk slip with adjustable straps. SLIP: This is a wiggle slip, fitted to the body. Bust 12 across laid flat but the sides & back are open.
Threaded belt loops at sides, but no belt. Right thread loop unstitched, easy fix.
Minor stains at skirt bottom & two dark stains (see pic). Few holes at back of hemline & one in front (see pic). Jacket is in great shape except the underarm tattered areas (see pic). One snap unstitched but is still connected to the other half, easy fix. Seam under bustline is a bit loose.Light musty odor, needs to be delicately hand-washed. Additional photos of the flaws upon request.
UPDATE: I've added a photo of the top of the slip. The construction is in fabulous condition. There are light scuff marks by hem & very light, but large soil stain around the stomach area. They are light enough where you can't see them thru the dress, & may come out with a (hand) wash. The slip is silk chemise & is very soft. However the dress feels a little dry & the crepe is a little more coarse than silk & feels like a rayon. It was a snug fit for the mannequin but the seams are tight and sturdy and I had no problem dressing her. I wouldn't recommend wearing it, unless it fit loosely. Although the dress & slip differ in size, I believe these pieces belong together & the dress was made to be flowing with the sexy fitted slip underneath.
