With matching bolero jacket & full slip. This lovely ensemble is fashioned from petal pink silk crepe and embroidered net lace. There are three separate matching pieces in this set: a slip, a dress & a jacket. The slim fitting sheer dress is designed with a bias cut and features a fitted bodice with cowl neckline and embroidered net lace overlays. The skirt has some flare and fullness, and increases slightly in length from the front to the back.
The dress closes on the side with a series of tiny metal hooks eyes as well as snaps. The matching satin slip with crepe trim closes in just the same place. The cropped bolero jacket has gathered bishop sleeves, embroidered lace inserts and small bows at the cuffs, which close with 2 pairs of wee snaps. The jacket closes partially at the waist with fabric covered ball buttons, all accounted for. Overall this charming ensemble is in very good condition, with the bolero jacket being excellent to pristine. Please refer to my condition terms below.
On the SLIP: there are 2 swatches of shearing on the sides at the hips where the fabric was taken in. (see pictures 11 & 12). On the DRESS: there are a few small holes on the front at the empire waist with faint discoloration, a small one on the side, light shearing on one hip, and some minor underarm discoloration most pronounced on the inside of the dress. (see pictures 10 & 11 of the dress inside out).
I have not attempted to clean this dress, but a professional cleaning may very well ameliorate this issue. The slip goes a long way in making these small holes. The embroidered net lace overlays & inserts appear intact on the dress and jacket as do all of the fastenings on all three pieces. Please account for a possible tiny pull or two in the crepes thread and/or dot of discoloration. The dress does have thread loops on the sides, but the original belt is missing. This lovely ensemble is a ready to wear vintage textile, with much to offer in the way of study & display. Please feel free to contact me with any questions or for more details and/or pictures.(I would call this a medium). 46-47 total length front to back.
Near perfect, no visible flaws or evidence of wear. Easily repairable minor damage, much is pristine. Basically solid & intact; some repairs may be needed. Obvious damage with difficult repairs needed. No longer intact and only partially viable.
