EXQUISITE Vintage HOLLYWOOD NIGHTGOWN Handmade of Blush Silk Crepe de Chine Bobbin Lace Embroidered Detail Estate Lingerie Trousseau. This romantic and luxurious nightgown dates from the early years (1920's-30's) of the Silver Screen.
My photos simply don't do it justice! It is entirely handmade of pure, blush-pink or peach silk crepe de chine, with beautiful and elegant details, including: fine bobbin lace trimming the neckline, armholes and inserted in the skirt; hand-embroidered French knots decorating the scalloped neckline; fine pleats on either side of the waist; long silk ties at the waist; rolled handkerchief hem; French seams, etc. The gown was part of a vintage collection assembled for Bloomingdale's in the early 1980s. It has a label at the back neckline that reads E. Russell Bush for GENE LONDON AND ASSOCIATES New York.Vintage Condition Excellent, Museum Quality. Bust: 40 (measured around underarms). Depth of underarm: 9 (measured straight down from shoulder opening).
Length: 44 (from top of shoulder to hem). Beginning in the late 1970's, Gene London, a former actor, operated a retro clothes shop New York City. Keep in mind that colors in online photos look different in different light and on different screens. I describe and photograph all the items I sell to the best of my ability--most of them are vintage and should be considered in "as is" condition.
Please be assured that, no. Matter how many items I sell, I strive for the highest degree of customer service and satisfaction. AND THANK YOU FOR LOOKING!
