This is a beautiful, rare, true vintage, one of a kind 1930's peach slip. It is a floor length slip dress, made of peach dyed silk that has a matte, or angel-skin finish. Top is sleeveless, and unless you are large chested, the fit on top is slightly relaxed or blouson fit. The neckline at front and back of gown is V'd. Note the extensive expert handwork, in the floral motif cut-outs and stitched decorations all along neckline in front.

Everything has been painstakingly hand-sewn onto a semi-sheer mesh lining to give a bit of a bare skin illusion around the. Note there is also delicate open pierce-work along the seam lines at the V neckline at the back of gown, as well.

There are long slender apron ties sewn onto either side of the gown, at about waist level, which can be tied to provide a more customized and waist flattering fit.. The dress is bias cut.

With the addition of flattering godet features at the bottom of the skirt, giving it a modified flourish (almost fish-tail) hemline. The condition of this item is very excellent. There are no holes or tears, no repairs, no wear, no snags or rubs.

You can enjoy this dress as much as if you had it made for you, in Paris --because I'm pretty sure that's what you'd have to do, to get anything equal to this stunning slip dress which, if you take care of properly, you will probably hand down as an heirloom. IMPORTANT FIT INFORMATION: This is a bias cut gown, meaning it can somewhat size itself to your body. How it works is, the thinner you are, the longer the dress hangs.... And the wider you are (or the more volume you have around your torso, waist, hip area), the shorter the dress gets. For example: if you are a well proportioned size 14P with 40 bust, the hemline might fall right below your knees, whereas if you are a size 4 or 6, the gown will be floor length.

Measured flat: armpit to armpit is 40 all around for underarm area. The waist area is 38.

The hip area is 46" but when you hang the dress to measure its length (56"), those measurements decrease.... This slip is shown on a size 4/6 mannequin. It will fit sizes 3/4 through 9/10 best.
