On offer is a one of kind vintage rare 1980s LAURA ASHLEY GREAT BRITAIN full bridal ensemble or formal full length gorgeous Edwardian Victorian style 100% Cream Cotton Gown or Formal TEA DRESS with bows and the most amazing dramatic sweep. The dress is full length and beautifully designed to have a sweetheart neckline and fitted bodice with stays in bodice and then with a short drop waist at Center opening to a gorgeous wide sweep skirt.
Bodice is lined except for sleeves. The bodice is embellished with a ruffle around neckline and a sweet white bow at mid front. The amazing ruched and shirred full sleeves fall to elbow length and are adorned with ribbons at shoulders and cuffs. Wide skirt just sweeps out and has zig zag ruffle bias fabric across the entire skirt with cotton bows scattered at intervals below is a tall rufflle. Mid back Center zip for closure.Also included is a matching cotton half slip with bottom ruffle to enhance the wide skirt with Laura Ashley label and a gorgeous silk flower wreath head piece with long veiling and ribbons at back with no labels to top off this amazing creation. Veil may not be Laura Ashley unknown but of same style and era.
Very few Laura Ashley bridal ensembles have survived intact and often find gown but no additional ensemble pieces. Also dress can be worn for formal events without bridal accessories and be a magnificent statement. Also you can wear flowers in your hair replace silk flowers on wreath for a true romantic vintage wedding or just flowers for a formal occasion!! Noted on similar listing this dress says also had a hoop slip which not come with the ensemble.
This dress appeared according to on line source in the 1984 Laura Ashley catalogue. Laura Ashley GB authentic tags which state USA size 10 UK12 and Euro 38. However Measurements indicate much SMALLER so please look at measurements closely and compare to a long cotton fabric dress you own for best fit.
Measurements are exterior and taken flat across front double as required all estimates. Underarm to underarm 14 1/2. Front Sweep at Hem across front.About 90 so sweep estimate 180. Waist pull string in waist 13-14 at front comfortable. Diameter small comb to small comb at side of wreath 6 1/2. Length 18 at side and about 35 at back. Again as measurements are exterior leave room for fit movement and size mannequin is a modern size USA 4 tall and zips up so guesstimate in 4 ish USA Range.
Dress has prior wear use age and has prior storage or display wear. Fabric is very wrinkled and May be some small spots or worn place but no obvious rips tears or stains. Needs immediate fine specialised dry cleaning by experienced service in vintage fabrics and fashions to look its best.
